February, the word, originates in Latin & signifies a “purification feast” that was traditionally held (source). Today, it’s also known as American Heart Month, Creative Romance Month, National Cherry Month & National Weddings Month. Typically the Chinese New Year falls within February, though the date varies per year. This year the Chinese New Year fell on Tuesday, February 5th & welcomed the Year of the Pig. The month also houses fun “holidays” like Ground Hog’s Day (2), Valentine’s Day (14), Superbowl Sunday (2/3/2019), and every four years Leap Day (next one 2020)! (See my post on just Leap Day coming soon.)
Palentine’s & Galentine’s Day was yesterday & Single’s Awareness Day is tomorrow, so if you’re bitter about this holiday: respectfully move along.
